Data and Information
ข้อมูล (Data) หมายถึง ข้อมูลที่เป็น ข้อความ(Text) รูปภาพ (Image หรือ Graphics) เสียง (Sound) หรือภาพถ่ายวิดีโอ(Video) ที่มีความหมายและสำคัญสำหรับองค์กร
สารสนเทศ(Information) คือ ข้อมูลเชิงสรุปที่ได้หลังจากกระบวนประมวลผล เช่น การคำนวณ การจัดกลุ่ม การเรียงลำดับ หรือสรุปผล เพื่อสร้างเป็นรายงานสรุป หรือจัดให้อยู่ในรูปแบบที่เหมาะสมต่อการนำเสนอสำหรับผู้บริหารขององค์กร
